8th Apr. 2009 - Marrakech R&R

After 10 days it was about time we had some "Rest and Relaxation". It is not always easy to unwind - especially in Marrakech. We made a quick call to Jean Pierre - the owner of Villa Chems - where we had stayed before our parents arrived.

He had space for 2 nights - and although the Hotel lacks WiFi - it more than makes up for it by a quiet and beautiful garden, a pool, some fantastic home-cooked Franco-Moroccan food and a handy collection of DVDs for a lazy night in.

It was also chance to recharge our batteries before we go "Off-Grid". The trek will see us be away for a total of 4 nights - and most probably no internet connection.

With Easter rapidly approaching we have started to plan where we go after the trek - and have reserved space down in Tata - right on the edge of the desert.

The 4 day trek should be great fun - and a chance to get some much needed exercise. We will be assisted by a guide - and perhaps more importantly a Mule and Muleteer - to ease the load - and enable us to take the larger camera and tripod.

Our next update will hopefully be in 4 or 5 days but that all depends on internet availability! So think of us as we trek through the Atlas over the next few days - skirting the snow line!!!
