13th Apr. 2009 - Imlil to Tiznit!!!!

And did the dawn bring sunshine - you bet! Although Imlil and us were still feeling the chills of the night before as we loaded the car - and drove (once again) back down the valley to Asni.

Instead of turning back to Marrakech we headed south - target Tiznit! In our way, however, was the 2100m Tizi n'Test pass - similar in a lot of ways to one of "our" Swiss passes - just narrower and less well surfaced.

On the flip side the roads are virtually deserted - all the better for allowing the car to have some fun - although Prisca was far less keen on that!!

At the top of the pass we met up with an English family - who bought us news of a mini-invasion by 1000 Bedouins in Western Sahara, widespread transport strikes across Morocco - the latter leaving Casablanca without vegetables!!

2 + 2 suddenly equalled 4 in our heads - the strike would explain the quiet roads!!! In fact on the way down there was more 4 legged than 4 wheeled traffic on the road!!!

The next worry was fuel - and so at the first petrol station we tried to fill up - not until I had dropped the car in for a good clean - much to the annoyance of Prisca's starting to grumble stomach! The car was clean - but the tank couldn't be filled - they were out of unleaded. And so was the next station. And the next. Before we found a Shell.

Which we promptly emptied!!! However we had more than enough for the rest of the day. We dived into a Taroudannt for a pleasant poolside lunch break - and then hit the faster main roads to Agadir and then Tiznit.

We pulled into the Hotel car park at 1730 - hoping to have a quick dip in the pool - but with the wind now blowing quite strongly - we scratched that. We now head off for dinner - so until next time - TTYS!!!
